How much does a Spruce Kitchen cost?
HOW THE SERVICE WORKS
As a small business, we only install a few kitchens a year and this is because as a soletrader I personally design and manage every kitchen that comes on board with Spruce Interiors. This means I know every detail inside out, and every aspect of the design is closely managed by me. I only take on one kitchen at a time, and you always deal with one designer and one project manager; me!
The design takes 6-8 weeks, and then this is presented at the Spruce Shop in Beeston. The presentation usually takes place between 12 - 5pm Monday to Friday and can take from 1 - 2 hours depending on the complexity of the design. The material moodboard is laid out infront of you with printed CAD drawings and colour palette so to help guide you through your decisions throughout the presentation. I always offer you a choice of drinks and snacks ranging from a cheeky beer with crisps from Totally Tapped, to a tasty coffee with pastry depending on the time of day.
Once the design is signed off, the procurement process of your goods usually takes 6 weeks. During this time all materials are ordered and a very organised project schedule is sent to you outlining a week by week detailed overview of who is coming in and out of your house, and what work is being carried out.
The installation can take 2-3 months depending on how much of the original room we are ripping out and what architectural details are changing in the place.
So all in all, from starting your design to photographing your finished space the entire process can take between 4 to 6 months.
DESIGN COSTS
The design fee I charge for a kitchen starts from £1,250 + VAT for a small kitchen, and this includes the following:
Kitchen Design (including bespoke cabinets and bespoke doors).
Lighting, electrical, plumbing and cabinetry layout plan
Worktop specification
Appliance specification
Handles, taps and switches / socket specification
Flooring specification
Lighting and under cabinet LED lighting specification
Paint and wallpaper specification
Internal doors and handles (if required)
Furniture Pack for Dining Table and Chairs
Window Treatments
Styling pack
The design usually takes between 6-8 weeks to finalise, and this includes a very detailed procurement list of every single item required to fulfil the design so that the homeowner is in control of how much they spend.
I obtain labour quotes from my contractors, the costs for the kitchen supply, and all other bespoke elements such as the window treatments through to the flooring and window treatments. Once all the quotes come in, I work hard to try and edit the choices I show to to reflect your budget so that you can decide on the best options that suits your bank balance.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
I design and manage all of my kitchen designs, so unfortunately I do not offer a design only service.
Once the design has been signed off, we then enter the exciting phase of Project Management. Under this part of the service I fully manage every aspect of the installation and carry out ongoing site meetings throughout the time that each contractor is at your property to ensure that they understand the design remit and carry out the work to my business standard.
My Project Management service is 10% + VAT of the overall project cost, which for kitchens starts from £2,000 + VAT.
Most kitchens take 1-2 weeks to install, however either side of the kitchen installation is the management of every trade from first fix to second fix electrics, plumbing, plastering, painting, flooring, tiling and finishing. The entire process can take 2-3 months so this fee ensures that your kitchen installation is fully managed on a daily basis from 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday.
As a management service we take care of every little detail. We order everything on your behalf, ensuring that you don’t have to do anything “extra” other than paying your invoices in a timely manner. This means you can carry on with work in peace and quiet, so you don’t have ongoing disruptions to your life whilst the work is being carried out.
HOW MUCH DOES A KITCHEN COST?
There are many moving parts to a kitchen, as a lot of it is based on what things need changing in the space to fulfil the design brief set by you. We can specify any door, whether it be a stock door colour direct from the door manufacturer, to a bespoke sprayed solid shaker style kitchen.
Worktops are also a major factor into the final design cost as this again is driven by client preference. Whether you choose solid quartz countertops, wooden or laminate worktops will dictate your overall kitchen cost.
