CLINTON STREET

BATHROOM

A warm and uplifting bathroom.

  • With a nod to to the Victorian era of the property in its use of pattern floor tile, and use of brass we gave this room a contemporary twist with a two tone wall tile design using an ochre gloss tile against a white kitkat mosaic tile. With her children grown into teenagers / young adults my client needed lots of storage for their new bathroom. She also wanted a space that was easy to keep clean, with a bath and shower inside the space. Initially she also wanted the washing machine and tumble dryer in this space, however with a clever redesign of the old kitchen we added a small hallway area in and fitted this under the stairs.

  • My client came to me because she wanted to change the use of 3 rooms in her house, so to ultimately be able to give her youngest son a bigger bedroom. This room, used to be the kitchen. By moving the kitchen into the dining room, and moving the old bathroom downstairs it enabled us to add an extra bedroom in upstairs. Overwhelmed with choice, and unsure what team of trades to employ I designed and managed every aspect of this bathroom to ensure that no detail was overlooked, and that the new kitchen and bathroom had the same design style.

  • With a red terracotta kitchen in the room next door, it was important that the colour palette for the new bathroom complimented the colour palette for the kitchen.  When you move between each room the warmth of the colours evoke a feeling of relaxation and security, making them rooms feel homely. Designing a built in fully tiled bath, meant I was able to add in a 300 wide tower cabinet at the end of the bath for additional storage for towels and toiletries.

β€œThe bathroom that Sarah has designed is better than I had imagined possible for a small, downstairs bathroom.”

"Sarah's product knowledge is excellent, and everything that she recommended is very well suited to the room. I am especially pleased with the amount of storage that Sarah has been able to fit into the room, with the generous vanity unit and floor to ceiling wall cupboard. The lighting that she recommended is also perfect for the space, with all the lights being dimmable, which is lovely if I want to take a relaxing bath in the evening. The bathroom that Sarah has designed is better than I had imagined possible for a small, downstairs bathroom. It has everything I need and more, and it is finished to a very high standard. I would highly recommend Sarah to design and project manage your bathroom installation."

"Sarah was hugely helpful in managing the multiple contractors that were needed to convert this room from a kitchen to a bathroom. Also, making sure that everything was completed within a short space of time, causing a minimum of disruption to family life, was a huge benefit! The bathroom fitters have done an excellent job - the tiling especially is great - it's extremely neat and carefully done. The decorator also approached the job with great professionalism and care. The blinds are well made and fit the space perfectly."
