CANNON STREET

KITCHEN

A fun family room where the kids can play whilst you cook.

  • Design brief to create a colourful kitchen that evokes a feeling of fun and youth. To accommodate the needs of a growing family, this room was to be child focused with the emphasis on play and colour. The design began its roots from a lovely piece of artwork given to my client by her sibling, and so it was important that the colour palette and feel of the room reflected the styling from the artwork.

Pops of pink, green and red were to compliment the monochrome graphite and dove grey kitchen. Contemporary hexagon tiles were chosen to create a vibrant and funky backdrop against the Corian worktops and concrete sink.

  • Within the new extension a feature wallpaper was chosen to really be the “wow” factor in the room. This wallpaper design becomes a 3D optical illustion when viewed through 3D glasses. “Into the Woods” and the trees feel as though they surround you, whilst still remaining a beautiful pearlescent abstract design during the day.

To ensure their 3 year olds growth and development was nurtured, my client wanted a climbing wall in the play area. I designed and painted this mountain mural, with the lower half in a chalkboard paint to encourage their son’s creativity.
