A stunning five bedroom new build in Wysall that needed some personality.

A stunning five bedroom new build in Wysall, that after 9 months of living in all white walls, the homeowner decided they needed some colour and personality injecting into the house. This family home was fully designed and project managed by Spruce Interiors, with all work being carried out by our team of trusted contractors between June to July 2024.

The living room was a huge 8.4 x 4m long room, with furniture that was in the wrong place. The bedroom needed personalising. Both rooms required love and attention, with both spaces lacking in a focal point.
The majority of the construction work was carried out in the living room, with the addition of a wall, pocket door and removal of a window.
The bedroom required a radiator moving, and the electrics altering for a better dimmable solution for the lights.
To create a mature yet romantic feel throughout the house, warm neutrals with pops of colour were chosen to give the rooms definition and warmth.
The bedroom was painted in a light peach with pops of gold, yellow and off white / cream. The colour scheme for the bedroom was inspired by the clients existing vanity table.
The living was painted in a grey green with pops of red, ochre and terracotta. The colour scheme for this room was developed against the existing red corner sofa to ensure the colour palette complimented the furniture they already owned.
The most significant change to this property, was the addition of a wall with pocket door in the living room. To break up the 8.4m long room into two separate rooms, mean't that the current dining room in the house could be used as a home office and music room.
Changing the function of room to accommodate your lifestyle is really important in this day and age. With more people working from home, it's important that a separate dining space still exists for families.
