WYSALL LANE

GREEN ROOM

A bold and cosy attic bedroom.

  • My clients had an open brief for the two guests bedrooms, and so my creative interpretation was to design two very individual and different spaces that their guests could enjoy. Rather than being paired back and minimal, I wanted these rooms to be impactful, thought evoking and to have their own sense of identity within their home. This room has an amazing view over fields, and so I wanted to use that green as my starting point within the design.

  • By painting the walls, ceiling and woodwork all the same colour, the room became a backdrop for those dramatic pops of gold and yellow. The contrast in colour takes your eye on a journey, drawing your eye to key focal points around the room. I wanted this room to feel like a hug, a cosy corner in this enormous house that soothes your worries and makes you feel well rested.

  • To utilise the void into the Eaves, I designed a simple wardrobe with shelving to one side, and an open space at the back for luggage. As this is a guest’s bedroom, there is some hanging space for dinner suits and dresses. The doors were designed in a classic shaker style and sprayed the same colour of the bedroom walls so that they blend seamlessly into one another.
